LDM Physio Corner - Finish the Season Strong, Not Sore
🏀 LDM Physio Corner with @mazza.physio
You’ve put the work in all season!
Training. Games. School. Travel. Late nights. Early mornings.
Now is not the time to break down.
Most injuries don’t happen at the start of the season.
They happen when fatigue builds up, recovery slips, and small niggles get ignored.
If you want to finish this season strong, pain-free, and performing at your best, this is the phase where durability matters most.
🧠 Why Late Season Is Risky
Right now:
Your tendons are loaded week after week
Your nervous system is tired
Small aches are easier to ignore
Knees start talking.
Ankles feel heavy.
Hamstrings tighten during sprints.
This is where smart players double down on the basics.
🔥 Your “Finish Strong” Isometric Habit
These are simple. Effective. No excuses.
1️⃣ Wall Sits
Your knee protection policy.
How:
Back against the wall
Hips and knees around 90°
Chest tall, heels flat
Dose:
45 seconds
3 times per day
Why it matters now:
Maintains tendon strength under fatigue
Reduces front-of-knee pain
Keeps your deceleration strong when defending or landing
2️⃣ Isometric Elevated Hamstring Bridge
Big for sprint speed and protecting the back of your legs.
How:
Lie on your back
Heels on a chair or bench
Lift hips until body is straight
Hold strong at the top
Dose:
45 seconds
3 holds
Once per day
Why it matters now:
Keeps hamstrings strong when fatigue builds
Supports sprinting at full speed
Protects knees during stopping and direction changes
🧠 Make It Automatic
Wall sit before school
Bridge hold before bed
No motivation needed, just consistency
This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about protecting what you’ve already built.
